About Us

InnerACT is devoted to the empowerment of communication through the use of theatre arts education. innerACT Theatre was started to provide Theatre Arts Education where it may not be offered- in places such as schools, businesses or to people who just want to try something new! Welcoming members of all skills levels, we are able to build imaginative and creative students, engaging and impactful businesses, as well as productive, motivated leaders. At innerACT, our team believes that the process is just as important as the final product.

Meet the Team

  • Anthony DePoto

    Founder + Artistic Director

    Anthony DePoto is a theatre educator, actor, and director. He received his BA in Theatre Arts from Western Connecticut State University, and his MFA in Acting from Minnesota State University, Mankato. Some of his credits include performances Off-Broadway, at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, and at the Kennedy Center for the Arts in Washington DC. He has also appeared in various films and has voice-over credits. Anthony has had the pleasure of working in various Regional Theatre’s Education departments such as The Guthrie Theater in Minneapolis, MN, Hartford Stage in Hartford, CT, and Long Wharf Theatre in New Haven, CT. In addition to founding innerACT, Anthony is currently a faculty member in Western Connecticut State University’s Department of Theatre Arts, as well as a Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival Irene Ryan Acting Scholarship chair for Region 1.

  • Paige Newman

    Teaching Artist

    Paige Newman is an artist and educator from Bethel, CT. Paige has performed in plays and musicals throughout her life and fell in love with the arts at a young age. Paige graduated with a BA in Producing for Film and Television from Emerson College. After graduation, Paige worked in the entertainment industry for 10 years across LA and NYC, including film work at DreamWorks Animation and creative marketing at HBO. Paige is thrilled to return to her love of theatre as an educator. As a teaching artist, Paige believes in the power of the arts to evoke creativity, innovation, and kindness.

  • Tina Vlamis

    Teaching Artist

    Tina Vlamis is an actress and comedian from Prospect, CT. Tina recently graduated from Western Connecticut State University obtaining a BA in Theatre Performance with a Psychology minor. At age 5, she made her debut in The Wizard of Oz as a Munchkin, and has been in love with theatre ever since. It brings her tremendous joy to bring theatre into the lives of others as a teaching artist, as she believes in its power to enhance confidence, creativity, and empathy in people.
